A simple thing

We stuck to the driving range today for my golf lesson as it was pouring rain (very welcome - it's been so dry). An hour of hitting balls - turn your hips, shift your weight, then rotate through. I seemed to be doing that okay, but I kept slicing the ball. Then my instructor (Jack) showed my how my wrists should be turning after I swing through the ball. Just a simple thing, but what a difference it made. I did a few partial swings to feel it, and each ball I hit that way went exactly where I wanted it.

Unfortunately this was at the end of the lesson, so I only got to hit a half-dozen balls that way. Need to get to the driving range again this week to practise. And yay - I was worried that next week I'd have to miss my lesson because of my UFE prep session, but I finish early on Wednesday and will make my next class.

Oh, and Jack mentioned tonight that he was born in 1912 (same year as Sam Snead). Holy cow - that makes him 94 and still going strong.
