Running again

How did three weeks go by so quickly? Busy at work, busy at home, I suppose that's how. Now I've signed up for another running clinic. This time it's a 10K clinic - preparation for the Vancouver Sun Run. It's a learn to run clinic, because I've spent so much of the last three months not running, that each time I go out, I do less and less. I was actually regressing, so I decided to go all the way back to the beginning and start over. Run 1, walk 2 is what I'm doing this week. Somehow from here I'm going to be running 10K, an unfathomable distance to me right now, in 13 weeks.

I'm trying not to think ahead - just get through one week at a time. If I look too far ahead in the program, I won't believe I can do it. So all I have to do this week is Run 1, Walk 2. I had my first run on Sunday, and my second will be tonight. I'm heading over to the community centre to see whether any other learn-to-runners turn up for some company on the midweek workouts. It felt good to run again. I was a bit hungover on Sunday (Grappa after dinner on Saturday night), but after my run I just felt so good. So I'm glad I've jumped back in.

Okay, time to put on my fabulous new Sugoi running jacket and head over.

Glad to hear you're running again. Look after those knees this time. Grappa eh? Hmm. I'm just sticking to wine except for the vodka martinis and Hemingway Hammers that Daddy makes me with his new coctail shaker what he got for Christmas. Take care. Gramma B
