I survived Module 5 and I'm UFE-bound (countdown: 252 days). Halleluah, no more weekly "tasks." I'm not out of the woods yet, but at least for UFE studying I'm more or less on my own schedule and should be able to enjoy a few weekends of camping with my family this summer. I started UFE prep at work today, my first day back. It's just an introductory session, but sheesh, they don't give us much time to rest on our laurels after completing mod 5.
I enjoyed my holiday - I was productive without going crazy. My bathrooms are all clean, as is my fridge, and I painted the downstairs bathroom. A very pretty blue, much more flattering than the old ugly pink.
I also spent some time blasting through a sock - I knit the first one at least a year ago, and wanted to finish the mate. Unfortunately that first sock was knit before I started writing down the details of my projects, and it took me four tries to get the toes to match (they're made from self-striping yarn, so they had to match pretty closely). Once I had that done, I was good to go and didn't run into any more problems with keeping things matched until the casting off at the top of the sock. Now I'm starting on the Jaywalker socks, but from the toes up, so it's taken a bit of fiddling to get started. You can bet I've written down what I did.
I'm also starting a sweater for Maggie. It's this one, from Sirdar. I'm using a heavier yarn, though, so I'm using my favourite Ann Budd book to help adapt the pattern to a larger yarn and a larger size.
